Healing the Heart

A return to love, peace and connection

Love is at the heart of almost every spiritual tradition. When we are able to live from love rather than fear, life can feel lighter. We become less reactive, more present, more forgiving, and more able to meet challenges without losing our sense of peace.

The principles themselves can sound simple: be present. Forgive. Release attachment. Become aware of the ego. Heal the wounds of the past. Choose love instead of fear. Change the way we perceive ourselves, other people and the circumstances of our lives.

Living them is another matter.

Anyone who has sincerely tried to practise these ideas knows how difficult it can be when we are hurt, frightened, rejected, angry or overwhelmed. Old experiences can shape the way we see the present. We may find ourselves reacting to what happened years ago rather than to what is actually happening now.

The Retreat

Healing the heart

The heart has long been a symbol of love, but many of us carry experiences from childhood, relationships and life that make it difficult to feel fully open, peaceful or connected. This retreat creates a safe, intimate space to explore what you may be ready to release — emotionally, physically and spiritually.

We do not believe that one retreat can resolve everything, nor do we promise that it will. Living from love and remaining connected to Spirit is a practice we return to again and again, sometimes moment by moment.

Our intention is to give you several days away from the noise of everyday life to slow down, reconnect with yourself, and experience different approaches to healing and inner peace.

A Small, Intimate Group

Five to eight guests, three practitioners

Healing the Heart is intentionally small, so the experience stays personal rather than feeling like a large wellness resort. The programme is a thoughtful mix of:

  • Guided meditation and mindfulness
  • Yoga and gentle movement
  • Sound baths and sound healing
  • Reiki and energy work
  • Attitudinal Healing workshops
  • Individual healing sessions
  • Rest, journaling and contemplation
  • Healthy, nourishing meals
  • Time by the Caribbean Sea
  • Shamanic-inspired practices

Attitudinal Healing

Practical tools for examining the thoughts, judgments and perceptions that disturb our peace. Rather than trying to control every circumstance around us, we explore whether we can change the way we meet them.

And there is space simply to be — to swim, sit beside the lake, read, rest, talk, or spend time alone.

The Programme

The shape of the four days

Thursday
Arrive — I return to myself
Welcome, and the making of the space. Conscious breathing, and a cacao or Egyptian blue lotus ceremony. You write down how you are arriving, how you feel, what you need and what you want from these days — and you will read it again on Sunday. Dinner, sharing, rest.
Friday
Open — I open my heart
Morning yoga. Then individual Reiki, around forty-five minutes each; while one person receives, the rest of the day is yours for journaling, reading, oracle cards, resting or silence. Qi Gong and heart-opening movement meditation in the afternoon. Guided meditation and a sound bath after dark.
Saturday
Release — I feel, connect, release, plant
Yoga and Qi Gong, then down to the sea: barefoot on the sand, a symbolic offering to the water, and a seed planted for whatever you want to grow. Back at the house to eat and rest. Then a body-based release dance, savasana, and a new-moon fire circle where you put down what you came to put down.
Sunday
Integrate — I choose what I take with me
Gentle practice and a slow breakfast. The closing circle returns to Thursday’s questions: how did I arrive, what did I discover, what opened, how am I leaving. You go home with one word and one concrete action.
Every day
Attitudinal Healing workshop
Time with the group each day to learn and practise tools for finding peace in situations you cannot change.

What We Hope You Take Home

Not that you leave believing you have become a completely different person — but that you leave feeling a little lighter.

A little more peaceful in your body. A little clearer about what you are ready to let go of.

Most of all, practical tools for the moments when life challenges you — to pause, change your perception, choose again, and return to peace.

The purpose of the retreat is not to escape your life. It is to help you return to it differently.
