Toison d'Or

Toison d'Or

Punta Cana

The oldest quest was for something precious. So is this one.

The most precious thing a person can find is peace of mind.

Why Toison d'Or

A quest, not a treatment

Toison d'Or is French for the Golden Fleece — the object of the oldest quest story we have. Something precious, guarded, and worth crossing the world for.

We don't pretend one retreat heals anyone completely. What four quiet days can do is give a small group room to rest, look honestly at whatever they are carrying, and go home with practical tools — so that finding peace isn't something that only happens here.

Most people leave more peaceful than they arrived. That is the whole ambition. Learning to find peace in any situation is one of life's hardest things, which is why we think of it as a quest rather than a cure.

The Place

Water on one side, palms on the other

The villa sits alone at the edge of a lake, with the fairway beyond it and nothing built behind. In the evening there is no sound but water, birds and whatever we make ourselves.

It is a house, not a compound — which means a retreat here holds six guests rather than sixty, and the week shapes itself around who actually comes.

The pool and shaded terrace
Between Sessions

Somewhere to do nothing at all

A pool that runs the length of the terrace. A hammock under the palms. Shade, quiet, and long stretches of afternoon with nothing asked of you.

Rest is not the gap between the sessions here. It is half the work.

At dusk we move onto the grass, and the day closes with fire.

Location

A private villa, a lake, and no one else

A secluded house with its own swimming pool, set beside a lake on a golf course in Punta Cana. No neighbours, no passing traffic, and no other guests while a retreat is running.

Punta Cana International is a short drive away, with direct flights from most of the eastern United States, Canada and Europe. We collect you from the airport.
